1. Exceptional corrosion protection
ZM steel coil offers significantly better corrosion resistance than conventional products: it outperforms hot-dip galvanized steel sheets by 10 to 20 times, and hot-dip zinc-5% aluminum alloy coated steel sheets by 5 to 8 times.
2. Self-protecting cut edges
When ZM steel coil is cut, the exposed edges form a fine zinc-based protective film enriched with aluminum and magnesium leached from the coating. This delivers excellent corrosion resistance even on cut surfaces (estimates based on salt spray testing).
3. Outstanding press formability
Compared to hot-dip galvanized steel sheets, ZM steel coil has a harder and smoother coating layer, resulting in superior press formability and helping to boost production efficiency.
4. Lower total cost by eliminating post-galvanizing
With ZM steel coil, the need for post hot-dip galvanizing is removed, leading to significant cost savings. These include reduced initial investment through process simplification and lower life-cycle costs thanks to its long-lasting corrosion resistance.
