According to the official announcement on December 17th, 2021, the European Commission launched a…
Non-oriented electrical steel usually contains 2%-3.5% silicon. It has similar magnetic properties in all directions, the so-called isotropy. Grained electrical steel usually contains 3% silicon and is processed in a way that develops the desired properties in the rolling direction. Cold rolled non-grain oriented steel (CRNGO) is cheaper than cold rolled grain oriented steel (CRGO). CRNGO can be used f cost-oriented applications where the direction of magnetic flux is unstable, such as motors and generators. CRGO is usually in the form of a coil, which must be further cut into laminations for transformer core applications, such as certain internal components in audio output transformers.
Silicon steel is the most important magnetic material in industrial applications. General applications include generators, voltage relays or pulse transformers in the automotive and transformer industriesilicon steel coil 11.4.7
