SSAW Spiral Welded x42 Steel Pipe

Spiral welded pipe is made by rolling the steel strip of low carbon structural steel or low alloy structural steel into a pipe blank according to a certain helix angle (called forming angle), and then welding the pipe joints. It can produce large diameter steel pipes from narrow steel strips.

Feature

(1) steel pipes with different diameters can be produced by using strip steel with the same width, especially steel pipes with large diameter can be produced by narrow strip steel.

(2) Under the same pressure condition, the stress of spiral weld is smaller than that of straight weld, which is 75% ~ 90% of that of straight welded pipe, so it can bear larger pressure. Compared with the straight welded pipe with the same outer diameter, the wall thickness can be reduced by 10% ~ 25% under the same pressure.

 (3) The dimensions are accurate, generally the diameter tolerance is less than 0.12%, the deflection is less than 1/2000, and the ovality is less than 1%, so the sizing and straightening procedures can be generally omitted.

(4) Continuous production is possible. In theory, infinitely long steel pipes can be produced. The loss of cutting head and tail is small, and the metal utilization rate can be increased by 6% ~ 8%. (5) Compared with the straight welded pipe, it is flexible in operation, and convenient in changing varieties and adjusting.

(6) Light weight of equipment and less initial investment. It can be made into trailer-type mobile units to directly produce welded pipes in the construction site where pipelines are laid.

 (7) It is easy to realize mechanization and automation.

Application

Spiral welded pipe is mainly used in tap water engineering, petrochemical industry, chemical industry, electric power industry, agricultural irrigation and urban construction in China. Used for liquid transportation: water supply and drainage. For gas transportation: coal gas, steam and liquefied petroleum gas. Used as structure: used as pile driving pipe and bridge; Pipes for docks, roads and building structures, etc.
