Under identical working pressure, the stress on a spiral weld is significantly lower than on a straight weld—roughly 75% to 90% of straight-weld stress levels. This means SSAW Steel Pipe can withstand higher internal pressures. Compared to straight welded pipes of the same outer diameter, wall thickness can be reduced by 10% to 25% without compromising performance.

3. Tight Dimensional Tolerances
SSAW Steel Pipe maintains precise dimensions, with diameter deviation typically below 0.12%, deflection under 1/2000, and ovality within 1%. In most cases, this eliminates the need for additional sizing and straightening processes.

The spiral welding process enables uninterrupted, continuous manufacturing—allowing theoretically unlimited pipe lengths. With minimal end-loss during cutting, material utilization improves by approximately 6% to 8%.
